Free Pressure Washing Invoice Template

Pressure washing is nearly always priced before you start and finished while the customer is standing there looking at the result. That makes it one of the few trades where you can realistically be paid before you pack up — provided the invoice is ready on the spot.

What to put on a pressure washing invoice

  • Area covered in m² with your rate per m², or a clear fixed job price
  • Each surface as its own line — driveway, patio, path and roof price differently
  • Extras such as resanding or sealing shown as optional add-ons
  • Whether water and power came from the property or your own supply
  • Before-and-after photos referenced on the invoice for larger jobs
  • Any guarantee period on sealant or treatment

Tax, by country

The rules depend on where the work was done. This is general guidance, not tax advice.

United Kingdom

If you are VAT registered, show your VAT number and the VAT rate (usually 20%). Under the CIS scheme, construction work for a contractor may need a deduction shown separately.

United States

Sales tax on labour varies by state — many states tax materials but not labour. Show your EIN if you have one, and keep the tax line separate from the subtotal.

Canada

Show GST/HST (or QST in Quebec) as its own line with your GST/HST number. The rate depends on the province where the work was done, not where you are based.

Australia

If you are registered for GST, the document must say "Tax Invoice", show your ABN, and state the GST amount (10%). Without an ABN the customer may have to withhold 47%.

Get paid before you leave the job

A template you fill in by hand still has to be emailed, chased and banked. With Receivo you build the same invoice on your phone and show the customer a QR code — they scan it, pay by card, and the money goes to your account before you have packed up.

Questions pressure washings ask

Should I charge per square metre or per job?

Per m² for driveways and large flat areas where you can measure; fixed price for awkward or mixed jobs. Either is fine as long as the invoice states which you used.

When is the best time to take payment?

On completion, while the customer is there looking at the finished surface. That is the moment they are most satisfied — a card payment or QR code at that point converts far better than an emailed invoice the next day.

Should sealing be a separate charge?

Yes, as an optional line. It is a genuine upsell and showing it separately makes it easy for a customer to say yes without renegotiating the whole price.
